Sandeep Lamichhane likely to play in IPL

Nepalese spinner Sandeep Lamichhane is likely to play the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2021 as the World Cup and IPL schedule draws to a close. Sandeep was left without a team in the IPL as no team valued him in the final action. Sandeep played three seasons for Delhi Capitals from 2018 to 2020. When Delhi released Sandeep this season, other teams did not buy.

In the last two months, Sandeep has lost his England T20 Blast and The Hundred tournament because of visa issue. Although Sandeep arrived in England for The Hundred, he has returned home after staying for two weeks due to visa issue. The rest of the IPL, which was postponed last April, will be played in the UAE from September 19 to October 15. The T20 World Cup is being held in the UAE and Oman from October 17 to November 14.

The World Cup will start two days after the end of the IPL. In such a situation, it is almost certain that foreign star players will not play in the IPL.

Recently, quarantine has become mandatory due to Coronavirus. According to the rules of the UAE government, you have to stay for a week. All the teams are preparing for the T20 World Cup. Everyone’s focus will be on the great performance in the World Cup.

England, West Indies, Australia and New Zealand, who have the most overseas players in the IPL, are among the title contenders. As a result, the chances of foreign stars playing in the IPL are slim. Before the start of the World Cup, it is customary for any team to play two practice matches. Those left-handed games will take place at the same time as the IP.

Bangladesh Cricket Board has made it clear that it will not allow fast bowlers Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan for the rest of the IPL. Shakib is in Kolkata Knight Riders and Mustafizur is in Rajasthan Royals. The boards of Australia and England have also indicated that they will not allow the rest of the IPL.

Despite the board’s permission, most Australian players have decided not to play in the rest of the IPL. Cricket boards including West Indies, South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka are also unlikely to send players to the IPL after leaving the World Cup.

All players want to do well in the World Cup. They want to work hard, have a high tempo and avoid injury. He is unlikely to be allowed to play in the IPL due to World Cup preparations, quarantine, fitness, injury etc. On the other hand, if their key players perform poorly in the IPL, then it also affects their morale.

Only 15 players are allowed in ICC tournaments. Injuries to their key players in the IPL cause huge losses. Playing in IPL will expose players to their weaknesses, but it can also affect the strategy and performance of each team. Hence, key foreign players are unlikely to play in the IPL.

In such a situation, there will be no World Cup team and the supporting players will be the choice of the franchise team. The spinners of Hyderabad are Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Mohammad Nabi of Afghanistan. Shakib and Sunil Narine are in Kolkata. It is uncertain whether Narine will play in the World Cup. West Indies captain Kieran Pollard has said that he is not ready for the World Cup.

Punjab Kings have Fabian Allen as the overseas spinner. He is a key member of West Indies, Australia’s Adam Zampa in Bangalore and Moeen Ali in Chennai as overseas spinners. Indian spinners are more likely to get opportunities in Delhi and Mumbai. Except Mumbai and Delhi, all other teams have more chances of Sandeep.

Nepal’s international game prospect

There is a possibility of a triangular ODI series between Nepal, Oman and the United States of America as part of the ICC World Cup League-II in September. There is no official confirmation that the event will take place in Oman. Since Oman is hosting the T20 World Cup, it will take some time to get ready.

Oman’s chances of hosting the World Cup are slim as it takes time to prepare the pitch and outfield. At the same time, Oman is also preparing for the T20 World Cup. An ODI tri-series seems unlikely as the T20 World Cup is being prepared and organized. At that time, there is no possibility of a tri-series in September.
