Nepal will not be able to play in the Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship because of Covid-19

Nepal will not be able to play in the 21st Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship to be held in the Philippines from August 29 to September 5.

The Nepali volleyball team has been deprived of playing after the Philippine government said it could not allow the volleyball teams of Nepal and India to participate through the Asian Volleyball Federation.

The Nepal Volleyball Association has stated that the new variant of Covid-19 cannot be made to participate as it is a sensitive area. The association has stated that the desire of the Nepali team to gain experience by competing with big competitions and big nations has been thwarted. “It has hurt the spirit of the Nepali women’s volleyball team,” the association said.

Also, the closed training of Nepali women volleyball players has been postponed, according to the association.

Similarly, the Nepal Triathlon Association has bid farewell to the President of the Association and General Secretary of the Nepal Olympic Committee, Nilendra Raj Shrestha, who is going to participate in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 to be held in Japan. Chairman Shrestha is scheduled to leave for Japan on Monday.
