Nepal to play friendly match against India at Dasharath Stadium

The Nepali national football team will play two international friendly matches against India next month. The match will be played at Dasharath Stadium on September 3 and 4.

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has confirmed two matches on Friday. Both Nepal and India are preparing for a clean championship. Even though the competition will be held in October, the organizers have not decided yet. It is understood that Saaf will give the responsibility of the project to one of the countries, Nepal or Maldives, in the meeting to be held next week.

Nepal and India last played at Dasharath Stadium six years ago. The match ended in a goalless draw in the World Cup qualifiers. After that, Nepal lost 4-1 in the 2015 SAAF Championship and lost 2-0 in the friendly match of 2017.

Both India and Nepal have entered the third round of the Asian Cup qualifiers. India was third in their group and Nepal was fourth. The selection phase of the game will start in February 2022.
