Telephone talks between the Nepalese Army Chief and Indian Army Chief

A telephone conversation took place between Nepal Army Chief of Staff Purna Chandra Thapa and Indian Army Chief Manoj Mukunda Narvane on Friday. According to senior military sources, Thapa had a telephone conversation with his Indian counterpart Narwane after he was about to retire a month later and was on regular leave a month earlier.

According to the tradition of the two countries, Thapa is the honorary master of the Indian Army and Narwane is the honorary master of the Nepal Army. The Indian Army said on Twitter that security cooperation had been discussed. However, Nepali military sources said that there was security cooperation between the two countries as well as dialogue with their Indian counterparts before retiring in the traditional way.
