The Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina has congratulated Sher Bahadur Deuba on his appointment as the Prime Minister of Nepal for the fifth time and wished him success in his tenure. She also invited him to visit Dhaka and proposed a partnership in a new area of cooperation.
In a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Deuba, the Bangladeshi Prime Minister said that the overwhelming vote for Deuba in Parliament was a testament to the trust and confidence placed in him by the Nepali people and Nepal’s political leadership. Talking about the good relations between Bangladesh and Nepal as close neighbors, she said in the message that the relationship was based on pluralism and common ground.
She expressed confidence that the existing cooperation between Bangladesh and Nepal in various fields would be further strengthened under the able leadership of Prime Minister Deuba and bilateral cooperation would be intensified by identifying potential areas of unused assistance.
“I fondly recall the state visit of the President of Nepal to the recently concluded Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary and the Golden Jubilee celebrations of independent Bangladesh. Calling on Nepal to benefit from its socio-economic development, Prime Minister Hasina expressed her desire to work in close contact with Prime Minister Deuba for the mutual benefit.
“Relations between the two countries will be further enhanced in the future with the help and support extended by the Nepali Congress leadership during Bangladesh’s independence struggle 50 years ago,” she said in the message. She also invited Prime Minister Deuba to visit Bangladesh as soon as possible at the appropriate time. The Prime Minister of Bangladesh wished Prime Minister Deuba happiness, good health and success as well as peace, progress and prosperity of the Nepali people.
